Commissioning parade

Went to safti yesterday hehe after some nudging the nite before by hope. The rain sort of abated juz before the parade started so it wasn't too bad. I thought the parade would end dry, but when it was time for their parents to put on the epaulettes for them it started to pour. So we had to go out and look for the people in the rain. Yupz I feel glad for my officer frens.. pity I didn't find all of them.

Test

Failed. I made a lot of careless mistakes - struck the kerb in the crank course, of all things. I thought my circuit courses should have been perfect.. but something had to go wrong juz now. I suck la. Haiz take again lor.

Saturday was day 3 of cny. Went to gh's house for dinner.. aunty was very generous hehe she actually prepared abalone, shark's fin and scallops for us! And the broth tasted like fo tiao qiang. Thanks! It was a hearty meal.

Day 4 I went to sy's house. The usual card games but no gambling.. too bad. Haha

I was telling Kimberly abt my coming driving test.

"Good. You will pass rite? Say you will pass. Say! Is it so hard to say yes I will pass? Say yes!"

Rite, she's always sparkling with optimism, which is a good thing la. Haha but I'm not hiao as she said. Anyway afterwards in the library half a box of tau sar pia was gone; actually I think they taste normal, certainly not worth 50 cents a piece. Shan't buy them again next year.

I had my 2nd revision lesson juz now, was quite lucky to have had Mr Ang today since we dun normally get our fixed instructors for revision lessons. Actually I feel more secure and calm when he is around, probably because he took me for most of the lessons. Hope everything goes well next week. He told me not to be too cautious, juz do wat I think is rite.

After dat I rushed back to hc to join the mediquizzers. wl was doing a good job. Facing my grand-juniors I feel dat I've mellowed somewat. Though it was only 2 years ago dat I was like them. Eager and vivacious. A lot has happened since then.. Oh ya. All the guys agreed dat the scenery in hc now is better than wat we saw in our time! Our lucky grand-junior guys..

Had dinner at ke ai chicken with gh, joseph and wl. Then I took 156 back. 2 cat high guys boarded at bishan and began an interesting conversation about the teachers. They said david chen is lousy, also mentioned Mrs Bala.. lolz.

Hmm.. Lizhen is rite. She doesn't want people to read her blog lest she would be uncomfortable. The way she feels sometimes have to do with her frens. I'm not one who judges others.. but this doesn't mean I can't be annoyed or affected by wat they do. =)

Ca over!

Yay! 1 long week of studying til the late hours eventually paid off yesterday. The test was better than the previous ones. Haha couldn't imagine myself having gone through dat, but at least there was company. I slept very little on friday nite. After lunch at holland v yesterday, I went home and slept. I was hoping to get as much sleep as possible before evening came, but only managed to sleep 1 hr plus then had to force myself to get out of bed. I woke up with a bad headache - the kind I always get when I'm deprived of sleep I badly need but it went away la.

Science bash

I went to newsroom bar with jl, alan and yb. The 2nd time there since the trifac bash last year. We arrived very early and the place was so empty, not any semblance of a bash. It was only after 11 dat the place became crowded. The free drink as usual was vodka but had no juices. So we ordered a jug of beer and shared it while talking cock. Then gy joined us.. haiz I think he's too engrossed with his business scheme. No matter how hard he explained it we were convinced dat it was nothing more than a pyramid. But shrewdly disguised by the company so dat it was legal. Gua yang tou mai gou rou. The 4 of them ordered tequila pop but I gave it a miss la, mebbe some other time cos I drank more than wat I normally do already. After dat they danced, swayed by jl's friend xuejia who was so spontaneous. Haha I didn't feel like dancing cos I really didn't know how to.. or mebbe it was becos I haven't danced this way since prom nite.. but I still joined them on the dance floor though I didn't move much. Lizhen said she was at SOS.. haha a teacher by day and party-goer by nite. I haven't met her since prom.. must meet up before she returns to melbourne. She said once they dun study as much anatomy as we do.

We left at around 2. I took NR6 back but this bus stops at sengkang.. had to take a cab back home. So I spent $7.50 on transport back home.. still quite reasonable.

Out again

Today I was supposed to shop for clothes with jl, alan and yb. But we met Jason and he joined us too. Haha this fella had interesting stories to tell.. we walked a bit then went to play pool. I suck la, out of practice. Then we went to Heeren. I met my primary school friend but it was embarrassing! He said, "I know who you are." And he got my name correctly. Oh my. I was so pai seh. I couldn't recognise him. Then he told me he was Gavin. Still no impression, though I thought he looked vaguely familiar. Also met hong han.

Juz played the piano. Long time since I had this luxury and was in the mood. Chinese pop doesn't sound very good on the piano but I enjoy playing it la! Rite. Ready to study again for the next ca.

Not hungry anymore

I juz had a packet of rice dat my mum bought. Juz nice, I was so hungry after all the studying. Today was a long day, becos of the 3 hour block of renal physiology lectures. Memories of this topic were hazy, so I was glad dat the lecturer was patient, but 3 straight hours of listening to him became a tad too unbearable. After dat I stayed back to study. I still have the entire of histology and embryology to go... must study more productively! Can't wait for cny to come, speaking of which I still have cards to write and send.. better do it as soon as ca is over.

Csl is so da pai!

Shanlong's back for his break. So yesterday I went out with him, ivan, edmond, wl and jh. Waited at city hall mrt. Met jl there who was also waiting for someone. About 20 minutes passed. Jl left with his frens. We were still waiting. It turned out dat he had thought it was 5.30 instead of 2. Oh my. Haha. Then we had lunch 1st and he joined us. He was relating anecdotes of living in philadelphia to us. Interesting indeed. We couldn't decide on wat to do, eventually went to marina south with the intention of bowling but the price was too steep. Went to the arcade instead. It's been quite a long time since I last played at an arcade. The 4 enthusiasts were playing something else, so I raced daytona 2 with ivan. 3 times altogether. Beginner, intermediate and advanced! (hey there weren't a lot of choices in dat small place.)

Dinner was troublesome. At 1st we wanted to go to swenson's but there was a long queue outside crown prince hotel. Haha the same one where 4-10 made such a ruckus dat the manager actually spoke to us at least twice! So we walked to PS. Met sherwayne there. Nice fella... I was pleasantly surprised dat he still recognised me after shermin introduced me as alvino last time! Our dinner was at cafe cartel. After dat we walked around best denki. Juz like the last time. Haiz.

He seems quite stressed by his studies there.. hmm and tired too, fell asleep during an exam. Hope everything goes well for him.

NUS again

Met Yurui at the bus-stop today. She had to go all the way to nus to submit her sep form. And she lives in simei. Haha finally there's someone who understands wat it's like to travel so far to campus everyday. She intends to be a chem tutor back in hc next time. Promises not to be another Ms Ooi. It's admirable dat she already has definitive plans for her future. Still remember she greeted me with "Harrr! Alvin!" when I walked into the room full of altos to test my voice in j1.

After dat joined gh and xy at arts. Dat girl said she wanted to tour the place, so gh of course accompanied her. But I wasn't so familiar with nus myself. So we walked around aimlessly, going to Law library, canteen and university hall . Reminds me of the time when I took the shuttle buses out of boredom. Then at university hall there was an international students orientation. Refreshments! So we took a bite. Then walked to engine.

I have a regret. It was my fault. I can't turn the clock. I let 2 chances fly. Hope dat this year will bring wat I wish to see.
