Day 1

First day of medicine posting today.. friggin shack. And it's my first time to AH. The place isn't that bad. I had expected it to be more run down, but it was renovated i think. Prolly cos it's such a small hospital, everyone there seems so lazy, events seem to unfold at their own pace, and there's nothing much going on at any time, compared to the flurry of activity at NUH. So we found this seminar room with air con, water dispenser, comfy seats and computers. Looks like we're gonna spend a lot of time in this room from now on.

It's so hard arranging a tutorial with the tutors. I get the impression that doctors abhor medical students. We are pests. And it's merely the first day yet they tell us horror stories of house officers breaking down, how proficient we have to be by the end of these 6 weeks, basically a lot of pep talk.

At least not the entire day was wasted, cos our tutor wasn't bad. Thought he made the neurological exam quite simple to understand. Finally know what a clonus is..haha. The patients we met today were cooperative too. But.. haiz.. i wanted to plonk down and sleep as soon as he was done. Mebbe it's the hot weather, or the sweat, but i was so tired. Still had to go for tuition after that. Day 1 burnt.

There's gonna be a new drama starring fann wong and thomas ong. I seriously think they have good screen chemistry. Remember a very old show zai jian ying guang lan? I liked it a lot. Can still remember the theme song. That was prolly the first time both of them acted as lovers and I think the effect was sizzling.

I juz found out that while ironing my tee, my mum accidentally made a hole in the sleeve. Sob.. it's my fav pyjamas.. my cat high pe tee. Sigh.

It so happened that on the way to tuition, I met a fren on the train. He was going to work, and my kid msged to cancel the lesson. Irritating.. I hate it when they cancel last minute. So I followed him down. It won't be a bad thing if I can get a 2 week job.. if I can hide the fact that I will scoot at the end of 2 weeks. But turned out that they didn't want to hire students, especially undergrads. My fren juz ORDed. Pity.. it's a telemarketing job promoting Starhub cable tv/maxonline.. Think pple would be less likely to slam their phones since it's not a bank nor an insurance company calling them.

It's finally over. 232 other people muz be having fun rite now. Juz woke up.. haha slept at 9 last nite. Haven't slept so early, for so long, in a long time.
